Ingredients
- 2 cups dry red beans
- 2 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
- 1 quart can diced tomatoes
- 1 tbsp chili powder, or to taste
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup chopped onion
Instructions
- Cover beans with cool water and soak overnight.
- Cook until tender.
- Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and seasonings.
- Brown ground beef and onion in skillet until done.
- Add to cooked bean mixture.
- Simmer 1 hour or longer, stirring occasionally.
