Bottled Apples for pie or apple oat crisp

Ingredients
- Apples sliced - enough to fill 6 mason quart jars
- 4.5 cups sugar
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp salt
- 10 cups water
- 3 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 cube butter
- Sliced apples
Instructions
- Mix dry ingredients.
- Add water, cook until thick and bubbly.
- Add lemon juice and butter.
- Fill bottles until they are 1/3 full of cooked sauce and stuff remainder with sliced apples.
- Steam bath process for 20 minutes.
